Miguel Olmedo February 18, 2019 AP English 3 “The Chase” Rhetorical Analysis Annie Dillard’s the chase is chapter form Dillard’s autobiography in which she describes a memorable moment where she is chased through her neighbor. Dillard applies rhetorical strategies to explain how the chase occured. Dillard uses hyperbole in order to express how the intense the scene of the chase became. In addition Dillard also uses anaphora to describe the scene. Annie Dillard's Choice of words to describe the chase scene were deliberately choose in order intensified the scene. Different learning methods  When trying to learn different vocabulary words i usually try to make connections between different words. For example when trying to memorize pernicious i thought of the word of vicious. Both words end with cious and define as something negative. Another word i made a connection was palpable. When i first heard the definition of palpable i thought of lemons. This help because it was an odd thought and help me memorize it. Another method is to repeat the phrase   Repeating the and using it will help you memorize the words.  In Spanish class i repeat the words in order to help memorize them. It is said  that you should at least try three different methods such as writing it down saying it/ using it in a sentence, and hearing it. Lastly a different way to learn vocabulary is by using flash card. The Hoax was that Justin Bieber had contracted a form of cancer, and urged his fan to go bald in order to support him. Exposure Once the hoax had been discovered it quickly went viral. The Internet quickly forged fake tweets from other celebrities in order to make the hoax more believable. 4Chaners even created fake doctor notes that confirmed Justin Bieber was Leukemia Positive. Many people also used a video where Justin was vomiting and claimed it was due to the chemotherapy he was under going After Math This Hoax resulted in many people shaving off their hair until it was ultimately prove false. Many people where posting pictures with #baldforbieber in the photo. Many new organizations such as billboard reported on the hoax days after its first appearance online.
