Bald For Bieber is a hoax that was created in 4Chan in October 2012. The Hoax was that Justin Bieber had contracted a form of cancer, and urged his fan to go bald in order to support him.

Exposure

Once the hoax had been discovered it quickly went viral. The Internet quickly forged fake tweets from other celebrities in order to make the hoax more believable. 4Chaners even created fake doctor notes that confirmed Justin Bieber was Leukemia Positive. Many people also used a video where Justin was vomiting and claimed it was due to the chemotherapy he was under going

After Math
This Hoax resulted in many people shaving off their hair until it was ultimately prove false. Many people where posting pictures with #baldforbieber in the photo. Many new organizations such as billboard reported on the hoax days after its first appearance online.
